Accessibility Statement
Effective October 24, 2026
The Electric Lavender Train is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, people who navigate by keyboard alone, and people with low vision or other disabilities.
Our target
We're working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as our design and development target. This is a goal we're actively working toward, not a certification — we do not claim this website is perfectly or completely compliant with WCAG or any other accessibility standard, and we do not use any accessibility-overlay product or automated tool that claims to make a website instantly or fully compliant. Real accessibility comes from how the site is actually built, tested, and maintained.
What we do
Some of the practices reflected in how this website is built:
- Semantic HTML, logical heading structure, and a visible keyboard focus indicator on interactive elements;
- Form fields with real, associated labels, and validation errors that are announced accessibly rather than communicated by color alone;
- Support for reduced-motion preferences — visitors who indicate a preference for less motion see substantially reduced animation across the site;
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and accessible titles on embedded video players;
- A layout designed to remain usable when zoomed or reflowed to a narrow viewport; and
- Interactive controls sized to meet WCAG 2.2's Target Size (Minimum) criterion — generally at least 24×24 CSS pixels, or equivalent spacing — with many primary controls (buttons, tabs, form fields) sized larger still as an internal usability goal.
This is a description of our design intent and ongoing practice, not a claim that every page has been manually tested against every WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion.
Services we don't fully control
This site links to or embeds a small number of external services, each running on the provider's own site with its own accessibility behavior that we do not build and cannot fully control or guarantee:
- YouTube's video player, which loads only once you choose to activate it;
- Formspree, which processes a Contact & Booking form's submission (including its CAPTCHA challenge, when Formspree presents one) once you submit that form;
- a Brevo-hosted newsletter signup form and a separate Brevo-hosted newsletter unsubscribe form;
- a Google Form for event-media submissions; and
- a separate Google Form for testimonial submissions.
Repository support for a service existing does not by itself mean that service is currently deployed or turned on — check the linked page itself. If you run into an accessibility barrier specifically on one of those external pages, let us know — we may be able to raise it with the provider, or discuss another way to help.
Reporting a barrier or requesting assistance
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task — this website continues to be reviewed and improved over time. If you encounter a barrier using it, or need help getting to information or completing something on this site another way, please tell us. Email info@theelectriclavendertrain.com with a description of the issue and the page where you found it, and we'll do our best to help. We don't promise a specific response time.
